About this calculation
Walls (zones A–E) and roof: flat (F–I), monopitch, duopitch incl. negative pitch — the type follows from the wall heights and pitch; internal pressure and wind friction.
Design basis
EN 1991-1-4, 5.3, 7.2.2–7.2.5, 7.2.9, 7.5 (KZ NA 2021)
Input data
- Wind at the site: Site; Kazakhstan wind zone; Fundamental basic wind velocity vb,0; Directional factor cdir; Season factor cseason; Terrain category (Table 4.1); Orography factor c0; Air density ρ
- Building: L — building length (x axis, along the ridge); W — building width (y axis); h1 — height of wall 1 (y = 0); h2 — height of wall 2 (y = W); Pitch α (duopitch; < 0 — ridge below the walls); Wind direction θ; Asymmetric loading — torsion (7.1.2, Fig. 7.1); Strip height hstrip (0 — auto)
- Flat roof eaves: Eaves type; Parapet height hp; Eaves radius r; Mansard angle α
- Coefficients: Loaded area A; Area A
- Internal pressure (7.2.9): Coefficient cpi; cpi, max; cpi, min; Openings in dominant face / other faces; cpe at openings of dominant face
- Wind friction (5.3, 7.5): Check and include wind friction; Walls (Table 7.10); Roof (Table 7.10)
Output
- External pressure coefficients cpe and pressures by zone
- Peak velocity pressure qp(z) with intermediate values
- Zone layout and a detailed PDF, Word, Excel report
FAQ
Where do I get the basic wind velocity for Kazakhstan?
Start typing a settlement name — the wind zone and vb,0 are filled from the SP RK EN 1991-1-4 map. The zone map is also available as a separate page.
Is internal pressure included?
Yes, cpi per 7.2.9; internal pressure is given as a separate load and is not added to the external pressure.
Can the report be used in a design?
The report shows formulas, substitutions and clause references. Check national parameters against the current National Annex; the designer is responsible for the result.
